American Bullfrog

The Bullfrog is the largest frog in North America. Did you know that the female chooses the male for mating according to the quality of its song, as well as the size of the territory the male defends?

Tadpoles of this species are also of an impressive size, measuring up to 17 cm in length. This larval stage in Bullfrogs lasts from two to three years, after which they metamorphose into adults.

In the immense managed marsh of Lavallière Bay, Leopard frogs are a common sight. While walking along the footpaths, people can see the frogs jump in order to hide in the vegetation.
