Dragonfly and Damselfly

Many insects, such as damselflies and dragonflies need water in order to breed. Indeed, their larvae, very voracious predators at that, develop in water.

Whirligig beetles appear to be caught in an endless dance. During the hot season, the water surface shivers under their unending gyrations.

The many-hued flowers attract the attention of nectar-gathering insects.

Though rather widespread, the magnificent Monarch butterfly still draws the attention of onlookers. It’s the largest day butterfly seen in Quebec.
