A muskrat on the bank

The largest concentration of muskrats of Lake Saint-Pierre can be found in the marshes of Lavallière Bay, as the narrow-leaved cattail, broad-leaved arrowhead, and floating bur-reed are abundant and provide food for these mammals.

Their huts are made up of vegetation and mud.  Muskrats often use rushes and cattails as building materials.
